Introducing Insider’s research on the human impact of business transformation: Watch the LIONS Live video, read the op-ed, and tune in to the recording of our digital event

Transformation is an inevitable part of doing business in the 21st century. COVID-19 has only accelerated the pace and tenor of these changes. Before, “transformation” was code for innovation, progress, and workplace evolution. Now, we are collectively experiencing a new era of immediate, ultimately human transformation.

The events of the past few months have created urgency to uncover the true impact of change on the people that make it happen, and during that time, we’ve been working on a large-scale research initiative to understand those massive shifts happening within organizations.

We started the project last October — ages ago in the era of coronavirus and recent protests against systemic racism. The pace of corporate change was already in overdrive with technology and automation upending industries across the board. We spoke to over 100 executives through a series of roundtable discussions and individual interviews and surveyed over 1,000 professionals (from entry level to middle management to executive) to understand perspectives on business transformation.

We’re unveiling the full research report in the next few weeks, but for now, we’re sharing a number of resources that preview the takeaways. These include:

1. A LIONS Live session on business transformation

We produced a session for LIONS Live, the virtual version of the Cannes Lions Festival, hosted by our chief marketing officer Jenifer Berman. The session, “Navigating Change: Why Leaders Need to Put People First,” unveils some key themes from the research and shares perspectives and clips from conversations with executives from across industries. Access the session on-demand at any time here. (free registration required)

2. An Adweek opinion piece, "How to Empower Your Employees as Agents of Change”

The article previews themes and key findings from the research. Read the op-ed here

3. A digital live event recording, “Building a Mentally Resilient Remote Workforce”

Berman recently moderated a digital event about mental health in the workplace featuring executives from Deloitte, Cigna, Bank of America, and TBWA/North America. Watch the recording and read the recap here
